Elisa Mayerberger Headshot

Elisa Mayerberger is currently a Ph.D. student at Lehigh University in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department studying the attachment mechanisms of Cryptosporidium parvum to bio-inspired functionalized surfaces. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Temple University and her Master of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Drexel University. She is highly involved in promoting STEM education and success among underrepresented youth and is Founder of the annual “Gain the Knowledge, to go to College” Science Fair in Philadelphia. Elisa is particularly interested in developing her understanding of the relationship between poverty, access to quality education, water resource management, and infrastructure. Elisa looks forward to the challenges of raising public awareness of corrosion on the global scale through her role as a UN Youth Representative for the World Corrosion Organization.
